Artistic career
Hansruedi Fehr started his artistic work in the late seventies (early eighties/late eighties) making his first experiences in welding metal objects and in designing stage sets. He is also one of the cofounders of "Commedia Adebar Uznach", a wellknown local performance group.
He gained his first recognition as an artist when he received the public commission to design the bar of "Culture Centre Rotfarb".
In an elaborate experimental process of cutting and welding metal he finally developed his very distinguished and unique technique of welding together pieces of old cars and creating new objects. He first concentrated on objects such as furniture. However, he soon began to experiment with "metal pictures". He later decided to focus on these "metal pictures" and on creating art.
Hansruedi Fehr finally opened his own atelier and is now able to make a living out of his art.
